Question

Does Domino support DB2 and Oracle ast he underlying database?

Answer

Yes and no.

Db2 = Yes

Oracle = No

There are no plans to enhance the capabilities of the NSFDB2 feature – this includes new features, updated DB2 versions, and platform expansion.   There has been a significant investment in the NSF data store, and NSF remains the strategic data store for Lotus Notes and Domino applications and data.  The NSF data store is optimised for storing and retrieving Notes & Domino data and provides the performance that our customers need and expect when accessing Notes & Domino applications.

Any customer references where IBM has successfully implemented the Domino R8.x upgrade from previous versions and the new Domino database is stored in Native XML data format using DB2 or Oracle?
If such references exist, what type of XML Transformation tool(s) have been used to extract and transform the data sources from the legacy Domino database to Native XML data format in Domino R8.x/DB2 or Oracle?
