Prompted by my moan at the Lotus community in a previous post on not giving enough back to the community I wanted to document the process of installing Linux on vmware and then installing Lotus Quickr 8.1 onto Linux. Over time I may add additional presentations on how to do customisations or execute demonstrations.
The presentations can also be downloaded from here.
For the time being here are two presenations to help the novice Quickr user.
Create a Red Hat Linux vmware image
Note that you will need to set the hard disk size to 30Gb to easily install Quickr for Portal Services. The reason being that you will need to put all the compressed files and uncompressed files in the vm which take up quite a bit of room.
Install Lotus Quickr For Portal Services On Linux – presentation
This presentation runs through the screen shots on how to install quickr inclusing the pre-reqs and the folder structure to ensure that all the required components are accessible to the install file.

Excellent!.
Think you can use Cento's distribution as an alternative to the official Red Hat?

Hi Enzo, Your choices are RedHat and Suse, the same as WebSphere Portal. Although great blog post on installing Portal on Kubuntu – https://wiki.edubuntu.org/Install%20IBM%20WPS%206.1%20on%20Kubuntu%208.10%20×64
Cheers
